I have some weird inconsistencies in engraving. I just did a test on a piece of scrap (happy I did!) and suddenly the engraving got a lot lighter... (See Image)
This is all on the same piece (as you can see) and in a single action, so I'd expect it to remain consistent along the entire process!
This is vector fill set at 1% @ 20 mm/s with 0.3mm line width (and 5mm out of focus, ie z -5mm after auto-focus)
The water temp was constant between 16 and 17 C, and compressor and evacuation were working fine.
The spot on the lens hasn't gotten any worse either, so that doesn't seem to be a factor either...
Relevant Smoothie config:
laser_module_maximum_power 0.7 # this is the maximum duty cycle that will be applied to the laser
laser_module_minimum_power 0.08 # This is a value just below the minimum duty cycle that keeps the laser
Any idea's what to look at?
